Pets Approved in the Program
Thank you for your interest in supporting the Handicapped Pets Foundation.  Donations received in the name of a particular pet will be directed to that pet until the level of support required to fully sponsor that animal is reached.  Should donations beyond the level of support required to sponsor a particular pet be received in his or her name, those contributions will be directed to others that have been approved into the program.  The Foundation makes every attempt to remove a pet in need from this listing as soon as the level of support required is reached.  We welcome your support and thank you for making a difference in the lives of handicapped pets!  To make a contribution online, click here.

Ella Has a Mobility Dream to Fulfill  E-mail
Update - Ella will be receiving a wheelchair!  Thank you so much for your support of her mobility campaign.  We look forward to sharing photos of Ella in her wheelchair soon!  Please consider making a donation to help us support other pets in need.

Ella is a Rottweiler/greyhound mix that suddenly became paralyzed from the waist down a few months ago.  Thus far, she is not responding to treatment, and her only options are a wheelchair or euthanasia.  Ella has a very dedicated owner who expresses Ella's bladder three times each day.

However, Ella's owner is also a single mother who is struggling to support her young daughter while also paying the remaining medical bills from her mother's recent battle with cancer.  Struggling emotionally with the recent loss of her mother and unable to locate a second job to help pay for the cost of Ella's care, the owner has turned to the Handicapped Pets Foundation for assistance in getting a dog wheelchair.

All grants from the Handicapped Pets Foundation are based on financial need, and Ella's owner has certainly demonstrated a need for our assistance.  She has also shown a remarkable commitment to her canine companion, and we hope that you will be able to assist us in getting Ella a wheelchair so she can be mobile again.

To make a contribution in support of Ella's wheelchair, you may donate online or mail a check made payable to Handicapped Pets Foundation, 14 Veterans Road, #22, Amherst, NH  03031.  Please reference "Ella" in the purpose line of the online form or in your mailed correspondence.  Thank you for your support of Ella and the Handicapped Pets Foundation!

UPDATE:  Trax's fundraising campaign has been a success, and he will be receiving a wheelchair!  Stay tuned for photos and updates.  Please consider supporting one of the other pets in need.

Trax is a caring therapy dog and an accomplished search and rescue dog.  Over the course of his career, Trax has helped bring solace to grieving families and criminals to justice.  Sadly, Trax has been diagnosed with transitional cell carcinoma that has severely impacted his mobility.
Although his family is painfullly aware of the seriousness of his prognosis, they are hopeful that a dog wheelchair will help him with his mobility in the time that he has left.  Trax is a devoted friend and companion who has given so much to so many within the community.

Trax's family has turned to the Handicapped Pets Foundation for assistance.  Challenging economic times coupled with the overwhelming cost of Trax's treatments thus far have created a severe financial strain.  Please consider making a contribution to Trax so that he can enjoy his remaining time walking and playing with his family.

Great Dane needs a wheelchairUPDATE:  Jenna will be getting a lift - her fundraising campaign has been successful - she is getting new wheels!  Thank you to everyone for your generous support.  If you would still like to make a donation, please consider contributing to Venus who is desperately in need of new wheels.  Thank you in advance.

Jenna, a lovely Great Dane, has been a cherished member of her family since she was a puppy.  Now, as a mature 12-year old girl she can no longer get up and moving on her own.  Her owners have recently resorted to assisting her with a walking harness, but at 110 pounds, Jenna is quite a bit to lift.  She really needs a dog wheelchair so that she can regain her mobility and take the physical strain off her owners.  Jenna's rear legs have gotten so weak that she cannot even stand on them long enough to eat her meals.

Her family is struggling in this economy and is barely able to make ends meet with part-time employment.  Please consider making a contribution to get Jenna back on her feet so that she can continue to enjoy life and get much needed exercise.
